SAITO Kota, Ph.D. (Associate Professor) [KUID]

Personal Background

SAITO Kota obtained his B.A. (2005) from International Christian University, M.A. (2011) and Ph.D. (2017) from the University of Tokyo. He worked at Kokugakuin University as an assistant professor from 2017 to 2020 and became a member of Kobe University in 2020.

Fields of Specialization

His research interests are intellectual history and history of religion in Japan from the Edo period to the modern era. He is especially interested in how Japanese understood “Japan” and constitute their identity. He is also aiming to contribute to international Japanese studies.
