Title：Kairos and the Art of Precision: On Alexander Kluge
Invited Speaker: Prof.Dr.em. Alfred Nordmann(TU Darmstadt)
Abstract:
It requires special skill to know the right moment - the time to act, the opportunity for peace, the embrace of the new. According to lawyer, filmmaker, TV-personality, philosopher, and storyteller Alexander Kluge, this skill involves a non-emotional kind of feeling that arises from attention to small things and fine distinctions. Artists develop this skill, but they do so as technicians, paradigmatically in a recurring story by Kluge on the „undoing of a crime“ through the combination of soberness (Sachlichkeit) and love.
