Literature Course: British and American Literature
By researching classical texts and developing solid language skills, our students develop analytical skills that will allow them to pass on our literary heritage to the next generation and become bridges between cultures.
About the Program
In the British and American Literature program, we consider the literature of the United Kingdom and the United States within the broader context of Western Literature. Driven by a fascination with words, the lifeblood of literature, our students develop a deeper understanding of English literary texts by considering their historical, social, and cultural context. They explore the existence of literature beyond the intersection of text and context.
By learning the intricacies of literary English, students in our master’s degree program develop their ability to understand and analyze English texts, as well as their ability to express themselves in English. Our program produces high-level specialists in English education, translation, and publication journalism. In addition to studying literary texts, students in our PhD program are to be trained to become highly competent by reading and critiquing secondary sources in order to write academic articles.
